Information ISO 16890 & Eurovent

What has changed:

Until now, ventilation filters have only been tested and classified with particles in the size of 0.4 μm. These are now tested with the 3 fine dust sizes 0.3 to 1 μm / 1 to 2.5 μm / 2.5 to 10 μm and grit. This is a much more realistic test than before.

At the filters and article numbers nothing changes, only in the remark the new standard is listed additionally.

According to ISO 16890, the filters are divided into four groups:

ePM1                    0,3 - 1 µm

ePM2.5                1 - 2,5 µm

ePM10                 2,5 - 10 µm

ISO Coarse        Coarse dust

To be classified in one of the classes, it must have a minimum efficiency of 50%. So if a filter retains at least 50% of the particles down to 1 μm, it will get the class ePM1 50%. The efficiency is then increased in 5% increments. (50%, 55%, 60% ...)
If a filter retains less than 50% of the ePM10 particles, it falls into the coarse dust class ISO Coarse.
